espresso martini from Tutto Gusto in Italy at Epcot

EPCOT Espresso Martini (Tutto Gusto Copycat Recipe)

Our home copycat of the espresso martini from Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar in EPCOT's Italy pavilion. Disney lists the ingredients but not the amounts, so this is the ratio we use: vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, and fresh Italian espresso, shaken hard and poured over ice with a coffee bean on top. Not too sweet and not creamy, just like the park version.

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring shot glass
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Rocks glass
  • Espresso maker (or cold brew concentrate)

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz fresh Italian espresso one shot, slightly cooled
  • ice
  • 1 coffee bean for garnish

Instructions

  • Pull one shot of espresso and let it cool for a minute or two.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, and espresso.
  • Shake hard for about 15 seconds, until the shaker is frosty.
  • Fill a rocks glass with fresh ice and strain the cocktail over it.
  • Let the foam settle, then top with a coffee bean.

Notes

Want it sweeter? Add 1/4 oz simple syrup before you shake.
Want it creamier? Add a splash of heavy cream or half-and-half for creamy without extra sweetness, or a splash of Irish cream for creamy and more like dessert. Add either one before you shake.
No espresso machine? Use 1 oz strong cold brew concentrate. You'll get a little less foam.
Prefer it up? Strain it into a chilled martini glass instead of over ice.
Which brands? KahlĂșa is the classic coffee liqueur and the easiest to find. Mr. Black is less sweet and more coffee-forward. Absolut Vanilia or Stoli Vanil for the vodka. Cheaper bottles taste cheaper in this one, so the good stuff pays off.
