Why the Morocco Pavilion at EPCOT Is the Coolest Spot You Might Be Skipping

top drinks and snacks in morocco

I don’t say this lightly: the Morocco Pavilion might be the most underrated place in all of EPCOT.

And not just because you can get a Frozen Mint Tea here (although, yes, that helps).

It’s because this is one of the last places in EPCOT that still feels quiet. Calm. Unbothered by the chaos of people rope-dropping Remy or sprinting for Guardians.

This is the spot where we like to just stop and catch our breath for a bit.

Yes, there are drinks here. Yes, there are snacks. But Morocco is one of those rare EPCOT spots where not doing anything is the whole point.

What to Explore (aka The Real Reason to Linger Here)

The Architecture & Courtyards

Morocco might be the most accidentally peaceful spot in all of EPCOT. You come in looking for a snack or a sangria, and next thing you know you’re sitting by a fountain contemplating how to move here.

This pavilion feels real. Like, actually real. It was designed with help from Moroccan artisans, and even though Disney has replaced some of the gorgeous handcrafted tiles with more generic ones (womp womp), there’s still a ton of incredible detail if you take a second to look around.

Oh, and if you heard rumors about a certain… phallic structure that used to live in the back courtyard? Yeah, it’s been removed. RIP to that truly legendary piece of architecture. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of non-phallic things to photograph here.

Photo Tip: Head to the back of the pavilion for quieter, less crowded shots. Bonus points if you catch the sunlight hitting the mosaic just right.

Best Chill Spot: Find the shady seating area back by Sangria Sips. It’s cool, calm, and one of the few spots in World Showcase where you can actually hear yourself think (or day drink in peace).

The Shops

Even if you’re not in the market for a rug or a lantern, browsing the shops here feels like walking through a tiny, tiled museum. I will always stop to smell the spices… and contemplate whether this is finally the trip where I buy one of those sparkly belly dancer outfits and completely reinvent myself.

  • Brass Bazaar – Lanterns, metalwork, and the kind of stuff that makes you want to redecorate your entire house.
  • Casablanca Carpets – Gorgeous rugs and textiles that’ll make you wish you had room in your suitcase (or your living room).
  • Marketplace in the Medina – Feels like you’re wandering a real open-air market. Handmade crafts, pottery, and vibes for days.
  • Souk-Al-Magreb – Disney souvenirs mixed with Moroccan flair. This is the one near the front, so it’s the easiest to stumble into.
  • Tangier Traders – Cute Moroccan-inspired clothes and accessories. Think flowy, boho, and totally wearable.

The Gallery of Arts and History

This little museum inside the building across from Tangierine Cafe is cool in every sense of the word. First of all, it’s air-conditioned, which makes it an automatic win on any afternoon in Florida. But it’s also genuinely interesting if you need a breather from the snacks and sangria.

The current exhibit dives into endurance races across the Sahara and explores the culture and traditions of the Berbers, an Indigenous people native to North Africa. It’s one of those EPCOT surprises that feels way more legit than you’d expect from a theme park tucked between churros and margaritas.

Also: benches. Real ones. Inside. You can sit, cool off, learn something, and pretend you’re not slightly tipsy from that frozen mint tea.

Entertainment

If you happen upon Atlas Fusion performing when you walk through? Count yourself lucky. This live band brings a mix of traditional Moroccan music with modern flair, and the energy is absolutely contagious in the best way.

They’re insanely talented, and if you hang out long enough, you might even catch them sneak a Disney tune into their set. Hearing something like “A Whole New World” or “Arabian Nights” played on traditional instruments? It’s one of those EPCOT moments that just hits different.

What to Drink (If You Want)

If I’m stopping for a drink in Morocco, I’m going for the Frozen Mint Tea at Oasis Sweets & Sips, because it’s refreshing, not overly sweet, and perfect when the Florida sun is personally attacking me.

But truthfully? I love Morocco just as much without a drink in hand.

If you’re planning a full EPCOT bar crawl, don’t miss our ultimate guide to Drinking Around the World at EPCOT.

If you do want to sip something, the back of the pavilion is home to Sangria Sips (quiet, shaded tables galore), and Spice Road Table has a solid bar if you’re looking for something a little fancier.

During EPCOT festivals, Tangierine Café often has excellent food and drink options, but it’s the food that really shines here.

What to Eat

There are 4 spots in the Morocco Pavilion where you can get either a snack or a full meal, and 1 former restaurant that is sometimes used as spot to cool off:

Table Service

  • Restaurant Marrakesh – Not currently operating as a full restaurant, but the space is gorgeous. It’s sometimes used for events or a chill lounge setup. Worth a peek inside if the doors are open.
  • Spice Road Table – Waterfront views, Mediterranean small plates, and an underrated spot to sip wine while judging the crowds go by.

Quick Service

  • Oasis Sweets & Sips – Frozen mint tea, baklava, and pomegranate slushies. This little spot is pure joy on a hot day.
  • Sangria Sips – Moroccan-style sangrias and boozy drinks that are better than they have any right to be.
  • Tangierine Café – Usually open during festivals with rotating menus, but always worth checking. It’s been home to some of our favorite bites during Food & Wine and Festival of the Arts.

Our Favorite Treats (That are Easy on the Budget)

Moroccan pastries from Oasis Sweets & Sips = one of the best snack deals in EPCOT.
They’re delicate, delicious, and a nice break from the sugar-bomb desserts elsewhere.

If you want something savory, Spice Road Table’s small plates are perfect for splitting, or for when you realize you’ve skipped a real meal and are running on vibes and cocktails.

Final Thoughts

Morocco might not be the pavilion that gets all the hype. It doesn’t have a big attraction or a trendy bar or a snack everyone’s posting on Instagram.

But that’s exactly why I love it.

oasis sweets and sips morocco

It’s quiet. It’s beautiful. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stepped out of a theme park and into another world, even if it’s just for 20 minutes.

And honestly? That’s worth more to me than any drink.
