TL;DR – Drinking Around the World Basics

  • Start in Mexico for a bold margarita kick-off or Canada for a gentler beer start.
  • Eat every 2 to 3 pavilions.
  • Water is your new best friend.
  • Most pavilions open at 11 a.m.
  • Budget about $110–$150+ per person (see our full cost breakdown below)
  • Pro Tip: This is fun only if you do it responsibly. Hydrate, eat, and don’t be EPCOT Security’s cautionary tale.

What is Drinking Around the World at EPCOT?

Drinking Around the World is a fan-created tradition where adults attempt one drink in each of the 11 World Showcase pavilions. That’s 1.2 miles around the lagoon, plus bonus steps when you detour into shops and festival booths.

The “rules” are simple: grab a drink in every country. The reality? You’ll need pacing, snacks, and maybe a group pep talk or two.

It’s part bar crawl, part cultural sampler, and part rite of passage for Disney adults.

The drinks are great, but the real fun comes from the atmosphere, the cast members, and the shared accomplishment of making it all the way around.

Planning Your Crawl

Best Time of Year

  • Fall/winter (October–February) = cooler weather + festivals like Food & Wine and Festival of the Arts
  • Summer = hot, humid, and lots of rain chances in the late afternoons

Best Days

  • Weekdays are calmer. Crowds spike on weekends (especially at night).

Where to Start: Mexico vs. Canada

  • Mexico first: stronger drinks upfront (beware).
  • Canada first: easier warm-up, party in Mexico at the end.
Our take? Start in Canada and finish strong in Mexico.

How Long Does It Take?

  • 4–6 hours if you’re casual.
  • 3–4 if you’re rushing (not recommended).
  • 6–8 if you’re mixing in festival booths, shopping, and lots of breaks in the shade and or AC.

Who It’s Best For

  • Adults, couples, and friend groups.
  • Definitely *not* a toddler stroller-friendly challenge.

Money-Saving Tips

If Drinking Around the World is causing pain to your budget, there are ways to save some money:

  • Share drinks. This is probably the easiest and the most common money saving technique, but even if you aren’t trying to keep the costs down, sharing drinks is a great way to keep from going too hard and crashing before you make it all the way around the World Showcase.
  • Stick to beer. In nearly every country, beer will be one of the least if not the least expensive option. There’s no shame in a day full of trying beers from around the world. Stick to beer and you’ll save a lot of cash.
  • Purchase items from the festival booths. If you are traveling during the time of year when there is a festival going on, make your purchases from the festival booths where you’ll be able to buy smaller sized drinks with much smaller price tags.
  • Bring your own water. If you are Drinking Around the World you’ll definitely need to stay hydrated with water. Bring your own water or water bottle in to the park with you to save money.

That’s the budget reality. Whether you’re a “stick to beer” strategist or “champagne flight or bust” kind of EPCOT guest, at least now you know what you’re getting into before your credit card statement does.

Pavilion-by-Pavilion Drinking Around the World Guide

Here’s a breakdown of our most recent Drinking Around the World choices:

Mexico – Best Drink: Avocado Margarita

  • Best Drink: La Cava Avocado (~$18) – creamy, fresh, and surprisingly balanced for a frozen margarita.
  • Where: La Cava del Tequila (inside the pyramid).
  • Skip: The premade margaritas from the outdoor stand. They’re weaker and not worth the $$.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: Conga Fruit Punch (Choza) – orange, pineapple, and lemon juice that feels tropical without being syrupy.
  • More Mexico tips: Full Mexico Pavilion Guide

If you start your challenge in Mexico, just know: the margaritas are not here to mess around. They’re strong, sneaky, and responsible for 90% of the bad decisions made in the World Showcase.

We of course had to get the Avocado Margarita. (We might also have had two and drank the first one while sitting inside at La Cava eating chips and queso. Don’t judge us.)

Norway – Best Drink: Frozen Viking Coffee

  • Best Drink: Viking Coffee (~$15.50) – Baileys, Kahlúa, and coffee. Perfect for mid-morning sipping.
  • Where: Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe.
  • Skip: The beer cart unless you’re just really into Carlsberg.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: Kristoff Kaffe – frozen coffee topped with chocolate cereal puffs. Basically EPCOT’s frappuccino.
  • More Norway tips: Full Norway Pavilion Guide

The next logical step after tequila? Coffee. But not just any coffee – Viking Coffee. Frozen. Because Floridan This little number is a mix of Baileys and coffee liqueur that somehow convinces your body you’re both hydrated and productive.

Spoiler: it’s neither. But it is delicious, and it had enough caffine to wake us back up!

China – Best Drink: Honey Hibiscus Hard Tea

  • Best Drink: Honey Hibiscus Hard Tea (~$12.75) – a sweet combo of Organic Tea, Light Rum, Honey and Blueberry Boba
  • Where: Joy of Tea stand.
  • Skip: The generic beer options; you can get those anywhere.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: Honey Hibiscus Iced Tea (without the rum). Same vibe, none of the buzz.
  • More China tips: Full China Pavilion Guide

In China we went for something less heavy. The Honey Hibiscus Hard Iced Tea? Absolute perfection. It is light, floral, and slightly sweet, aka, the exact kind of drink that that is easy to drink. It is also a good size for sharing (if you’re into that kind of thing).

Germany – Best Drink: Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Beer

  • Best Drink: Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Bier (~$11.50) – light, citrusy, and easy to drink.
  • Where: Bier cart or Sommerfest.
  • Skip: The Jäger shots. Just… no.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: Mezzo Mix (orange Coke, imported from Germany). Sweet, fizzy, and unique.
  • More Germany tips: Full Germany Pavilion Guide

At this point in the challenge, we were feeling fantastic and also very much in need of a carb situation. Enter: Germany.

The Schöfferhofer Grapefruit Beer is low-alcohol, crisp (which keeps us from pushing things too hard), and wildly easy to drink.

It also pairs perfectly with a giant soft pretzel, which may have saved our lives.

Italy – Best Drink: Espresso Martini

  • Best Drink: Espresso Martini (~$18) – no cream, just vanilla vodka, coffee liqueur, and espresso
  • Where: Tutto Gusto.
  • Skip: The overpriced wine flight. Save wine for a nicer setting.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: San Pellegrino sparkling sodas (Aranciata or Limonata). Crisp palate cleansers between all the carbs.
  • More Italy tips: Full Italy Pavilion Guide

This is the part of the challenge where you either crash… or rally. And Italy? It gave us the rally.

With full stomachs and only slightly wobbly legs, we made our way to the back of the pavilion to Tutto Gusto and ordered an Espresso Martini.

It was smooth, bougie, and just caffeinated enough to convince us that we were invincible. (We were not.)

American Adventure – Best Drink: Tennessee Lemonade

  • Best Drink: Tennessee Lemonade (~$16.00) – strong, tangy, and one of the best whiskey cocktails in EPCOT.
  • Where: Regal Eagle’s outdoor bar.
  • Skip: Basic beer here unless it’s a seasonal you’re excited about.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: Berry Punch – white grape juice with strawberry, peach, and blackberry. Looks like juice, feels like a mocktail.
  • More America tips: Full America Pavilion Guide

Ah, the halfway point. This is where weaker drinkers tap out. But not us.

Fueled by pretzels and some alcohol enhanced confidence, we stumbled walked into the American Adventure Pavilion and grabbed a Tennessee Lemonade, a sweet, peachy whiskey cocktail that made us feel patriotic-ish.

Japan – Best Drink: Violet Sake

  • Best Drink: Violet Sake (~$12.50) – pretty, floral, and not too sweet.
  • Where: Garden House stand.
  • Skip: Warm sake unless you’re in the mood for it.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: Ramune soda (the marble-top bottle is half the fun).
  • More Japan tips: Full Japan Pavilion Guide

Japan is just a beautiful pavilion, with lots of shaded areas to sit. We like to grab a cocktail from the Garden House stand and make use of a (typically) easy spot to put our feet up for a bit.

The Violet Sake is bright purple, unapologetically sweet, and basically EPCOT’s version of a friendship bracelet. It’s also impossible to carry this drink without getting compliments.

Morocco – Best Drink: Frozen Mint Tea

  • Best Drink: Frozen Mint Tea (~$15.50) – refreshing and cool without being sweet
  • Where: Oasis Sweets & Sips
  • Skip: Anything overly sweet from the carts.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: Frozen Mint Tea Slush (NA version). Honestly one of EPCOT’s best drinks, period.
  • More Morocco tips: Full Morocco Pavilion Guide

This stop came just in time. We were hot. We were fading. We were questioning everything. And then: Morocco.

The Frozen Mint Tea was an actual lifesaver: cool, refreshing, lightly caffeinated, and not carbonated (thank the hydration gods). It gave us just enough energy to pretend we weren’t starting to sweat tequila. It is another drink that is a good size and since it can melt fast in the heat, sharing it is a great option.

France – Best Drink: Grand Marnier Orange Slush

  • Best Drink: Grand Marnier Slush (~$14.95) – icy, boozy, and just the right sweetness.
  • Where: Les Vins des Chefs de France kiosk.
  • Skip: Generic champagne; you can find better elsewhere.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: Frozen Lemonade – basic, yes, but hits the spot in Florida heat.
  • More France tips: Full France Pavilion Guide

France is where everything feels like a brilliant idea. The Grand Marnier Orange Slush is sweet, strong, and frozen enough to trick your brain into thinking you speak fluent French. (You don’t.)

France is full of temptations. You can stop for wine, cocktails, champagne, even a bougie glass of Dom Pérignon if you want your park day to cost as much as a mortgage payment. But nothing beats that frozen orange slush.

United Kingdom – Best Drink: Imperial Sampler

  • Best Drink: Imperial Sampler (~$14.75) – flight of beers and ciders
  • Where: Rose & Crown Pub.
  • Skip: The beer stand outside; the pub is a better experience.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: Twinings English Breakfast Tea (cozy at night).
  • More UK tips: Full UK Pavilion Guide

By the time we reached the UK, we were deep in our “we could totally move here and live above a pub” phase.

The Imperial Sampler, a flight of four beers including Guinness, Harp, Boddingtons, and Bombardier, was just what we needed. Smaller pours gave us the illusion of moderation (lol), and sharing made it feel social instead of sloppy.

The Rose & Crown Pub is the EPCOT pub crawl vibe: cozy, crowded, loud in the best way, and you can read our full review for the best drinks, pro tips, and why we always make it a stop

Canada – Best Drink: Ottawa Apple

  • Best Drink: Ottawa Apple (~$15) – Crown Royal whisky, apple infusion, and cranberry juice.
  • Where: Canada popcorn cart
  • Skip: Moosehead lager unless you just want a Canadian beer.
  • Non-Alcoholic Pick: Maple Popcorn (pair it with a Diet Coke and call it balanced).
  • More Canada tips: Full Canada Pavilion Guide

We are pretty sure we remember everything about Canada, including the Ottawa Apple tasting like a crisp fall afternoon, if that afternoon involved whisky, maple, and a deep sense of accomplishment.

We grabbed a bench by the waterfall, sipped slowly, and reflected on our journey. If this is your first stop, pace yourself.

If it’s your last, congrats: you survived Drinking Around the World.

Drinking Around the World During EPCOT Festivals

If you’re Drinking Around the World during a festival (and odds are, you are), you’re in luck. the rules change a little. The booths bring extra drinks, smaller pours, and lots of seasonal options.

Here’s how to work the crawl by festival:

Food & Wine Festival

  • This is the Super Bowl of EPCOT drinking. The booths mean you can grab smaller pours for less cash, which makes it easier to pace yourself. The danger? You’ll stop at three booths between Norway and Germany and never actually make it to Italy. Our advice: pick a few booths you must hit, and let the rest go. See our full EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Drinks Guide.
  • We’ve also got the full 2025 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Drinks Guide if you want to see every single pour (beer, wine, cocktails, even the non-alcoholic life-savers).

Festival of the Arts

  • The prettiest crawl you’ll ever do. Drinks are colorful, Instagrammable, and often more art project than cocktail. Expect glitter rims, smoke bubbles, and something that looks like a paint pallete but costs $14. It’s fun to mix in, but don’t skip the classics. Check out our EPCOT Festival of the Arts Guide.

Flower & Garden Festival

  • Think fruity, floral cocktails and fresh flavors. It’s a nice way to break up all the beer, but careful because many of these are deceptively sweet. You’ll feel like you’re drinking juice… until you stand up. See our EPCOT Flower & Garden Guide.

Festival of the Holidays

  • Warm cocktails, spiked hot chocolates, and heavier crowd flow. It’s cozy, festive, and probably the hardest crawl to complete because those drinks hit fast. Festival of the Holidays Guide Coming Soon!

Our advice for all the festivals?

Our advice? Mix a few festival drinks into your challenge, but don’t skip the classics we listed above from each pavilion.

What to Wear & Bring

Ok, you have your trip booked, your drinks narrowed down, and your friends assembled. Here’s what you’ll want to take with you to the park:

  • Comfy shoes (you’ll walk 2+ miles).
  • Refillable water bottle.
  • Portable charger.
  • Government-issued ID (Disney checks everyone) or Passport if traveling from overseas.
  • Small bag for essentials (like extra sunblock).
  • Matching crawl shirts if you’re extra.

Non-Alcoholic Survival Picks at EPCOT

Yes, you can “drink” around the world at EPCOT without getting tipsy and texting your ex from the Mexico pavilion by 3 p.m. Whether you’re sober, pacing yourself, or just not in the mood for alcohol, there are actually some great zero-proof options tucked into each pavilion. Here are some of our top picks:

  • Mexico
    • Conga Fruit Punch (Choza de Margarita) – A mix of orange, pineapple, and lemon juice that leans tropical without being cloying. The one real mocktail on the menu here, and it hits better than you’d expect.
  • Norway
    • Kristoff Kaffe (Kringla Bakeri) – Sweet frozen coffee topped with chocolate cereal puffs. It’s indulgent, caffeinated, and doesn’t feel like a compromise.
  • China
    • Honey Hibiscus Iced Tea (Joy of Tea) – A floral iced tea with blueberry boba. Light, refreshing, and way more interesting than soda.
  • Germany
    • Mezzo Mix / Spezi (Sommerfest) – Coke meets orange soda, imported straight from Germany. Sweet, fizzy, and something you can’t grab at your local gas station.
  • Italy
    • San Pellegrino Sparkling Sodas – Aranciata or Limonata keep things crisp and sophisticated. A solid palate cleanser between heavier snacks
  • The American Adventure
    • Berry Punch (Regal Eagle Smokehouse) – White grape juice with strawberry, peach, and blackberry. It drinks more like a festival punch than just “juice.
  • Japan
    • Ramune Soda (Mitsukoshi Store) – The iconic Japanese marble-top bottle. The flavors are fun, but half the joy is the ritual of cracking one open.
  • Morocco
    • Frozen Mint Tea Slush (Oasis Sweets & Sips) – Cold, tart, and shockingly refreshing. One of the best NA drinks in the park, period.
  • France
    • Frozen Lemonade (Snack Stands) – Sharp, tart, and icy. Not the most adventurous option, but it’s perfect in Florida heat.
  • United Kingdom
    • Twinings Breakfast Tea (Yorkshire County Fish Shop) – A cozy, classic choice if you’re wandering World Showcase after dark.
  • Canada
    • Maple Popcorn (Popcorn Cart) – Sadly, Canada is severely lacking in non alcoholic options. But they do have some delicious maple popcorn! Your best bet here is to grab some of that, a Diet Coke, and a spot on a bench to rest your feet.

Tips for Surviving and Thriving when Drinking Around the World

  • Eat every few pavilions (pretzel in Germany = lifesaver).
  • Share drinks to save money and sobriety.
  • Hydrate between stops. This is especially important if it is hot and/or humid!
  • Use AC breaks (shops, the Odyssey building during festivals, dip into Regal Eagle for a cold drink in the AC, etc.)
  • Plan your exit: Bus (front of the park), Skyliner (International Gateway), Monorail (front of the park), or Uber/Lyft (either from one of the nearby resorts out the International Gateway or out the front of the park).

FAQs: Drinking Around the World at EPCOT

How long does it take to Drink Around the World at EPCOT?

Plan on 4–6 hours if you’re stopping at every pavilion, longer if you’re taking breaks or hitting festival booths. If you’re rushing, you can do it in 3–4 hours, but honestly, slow and steady is the way to go.

Do you need a park ticket to Drink Around the World?

Yes, you’ll need a regular EPCOT ticket or a Park Hopper ticket if you’re coming from another park. There’s no special ticket for Drinking Around the World, so standard admission is all you need.

Do you need to be 21 to Drink Around the World?

Absolutely. Disney checks IDs everywhere, so bring a valid government-issued photo ID (or a passport if you’re visiting from another country). No ID = no drink, no exceptions.

Can you share drinks while Drinking Around the World?

Absolutely, and we recommend it. Sharing keeps the cost and the alcohol intake more manageable, especially if you want to make it past Germany without calling it quits.

How far is it to walk around EPCOT World Showcase?

It’s about 1.2 miles around the lagoon. Add in detours into shops and food booths, and you’re easily hitting 2+ miles over the crawl. We suggest that you wear real shoes and not the “cute for Instagram” ones.

What time do pavilions start selling alcohol at EPCOT?

Most World Showcase pavilions open and start serving alcohol at 11:00 a.m. There are a few exceptions during festivals (for example, you can get started at park opening in France at Les Halles) or busy seasons, but 11 a.m. is a safe bet for planning your first stop.
